The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) placed 17 districts of mainland Portugal under yellow warning due to adverse weather conditions. The warning covers situations of intense heat, thunderstorm, heavy rain and wind gusts.
The affected districts include Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga. In these regions, IPMA alerts for the occurrence of thunderstorm, heavy precipitation and wind gusts between 70 and 90 kilometres per hour.
