Volunteers from the parish of Fontelo, in Trás-os-Montes, participated in an initiative organized by the municipal council to raise awareness among the population about the correct separation of domestic waste. Young people like Tiago Paiva, 14 years old, and Gabriela Vaz, 18 years old, were involved in the action, which was mainly aimed at residents who had not yet joined the waste separation program. The volunteers highlighted that the experience allowed them not only to contribute to the community, but also to establish contact with the local population, especially elderly people who live alone or have family members who have emigrated.
