Eleven districts of mainland Portugal will be under yellow warning this Thursday and Friday due to hot weather, with temperatures that will exceed 40 degrees. The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) issued the warnings for the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Lisboa, Beja, Castelo Branco, and one more district that was not fully identified in the article. The yellow warning is the third lowest level on a three-level scale and indicates a risk situation for certain activities dependent on meteorological conditions. This intense heat situation affects a large part of the mainland territory for at least two consecutive days, requiring precautions from the population.
