Mora and Mourão without Volta platform: mayors question access to the system

Sixteen Portuguese municipalities do not have collection points for the Volta system, of deposit and refund of packaging, on their online platform, according to a search on the website. The municipalities without any point include Mora and Mourão, in the district of Évora, where the mayors question the population's access to the system that allows recovering 0.10 euros per packaging. SDR Portugal counters that only five municipalities do not have machines and that the website is not updated. In Oleiros, residents have to travel 50 kilometers to Sertã, while in Mourão the mayor states he was never contacted for kiosk installation. In Mora, the machine has already been purchased and is on site, but does not yet work.

Carneiro says the Government lacks the democratic humility mentioned by Marques Mendes (WITH AUDIO)

PS leader José Luís Carneiro considered that former presidential candidate Luís Marques Mendes "touched a nerve" when talking about the need for democratic humility, something that, according to Carneiro, the Government "lacks at the very least." In statements to journalists during a visit to Nisa, in the district of Portalegre, as part of the "Tour of the Interior and Cross-Border Cooperation," the socialist stated that this lack of humility is visible when the PSD holds congresses to attack the opposition instead of talking about the country, also referring to the party's Summer University. Marques Mendes had warned that one cannot live in "permanent electoral campaign" and asked for democratic humility from the parties. Carneiro took the opportunity to guarantee that the PS will support in the Assembly of the Republic projects such as the international bridge over the Sever River, between Nisa and Cedillo, and the Pisão Dam, in Crato.
