Eleven districts in mainland Portugal will be under yellow weather warning this Thursday and Friday due to heat. The yellow warning is the second lowest level of a three-level meteorological danger scale.
The rural fire danger will significantly worsen this Thursday, particularly in the inland North and Centre regions, in Alentejo and the Algarve. These areas are traditionally the most vulnerable to fires during the summer months.
Meteorological and civil protection authorities are warning the population about the risks associated with extreme heat and the increased fire danger. Extra caution is recommended in outdoor activities and attention to authority guidelines.
