The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) issued a yellow warning for the Lisbon district due to the forecast of hot weather, resulting from persistently high maximum temperature values.
The warning will be active between 09:00 on September 3 and 11:00 on September 4, covering a period when temperatures are expected to remain above usual for this time of year.
According to IPMA, this alert level reflects conditions that may increase thermal discomfort, especially during hours of greatest solar exposure, justifying increased vigilance among the population.
The yellow warning for hot weather indicates elevated maximum temperature values, being the second lowest level on the meteorological alert scale.
