Temperatures reach 42 degrees on Thursday

Eleven districts of mainland Portugal will be under yellow warning on Thursday due to hot weather, with temperatures that could reach 42 degrees, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere.

The districts covered by the warning are Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Lisboa, Beja, Castelo Branco and Portalegre. The yellow warning, which represents the lowest level of meteorological risk, will be in effect due to the forecast of high values of maximum temperature.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere is the entity responsible for issuing weather warnings in Portugal, monitoring atmospheric conditions and alerting the population to risk situations.
