Nine districts in the center and south of mainland Portugal will be under yellow warning over the weekend due to heat. The districts covered are Évora, Santarém, Setúbal, Lisbon, Leiria, Beja, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, and Portalegre.
The yellow warning comes into effect at 10:00 AM on Saturday and extends until 5:00 PM on Sunday, making a period of approximately 31 hours of alert.
This weather warning was issued to alert the population to intense heat conditions, recommending special precautions, especially for more vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and people with chronic illnesses.
