Atmospheric instability returns tomorrow, October 5th, to mainland Portugal, with thunderstorms forecast that will intensify from 3:00 PM in the North and Centre of the country. According to the latest ECMWF update, the first hours of Saturday afternoon will bring thunderstorms back to the North and Centre, with the possibility of reaching the South.

The first convective cells may already appear from 1:00 PM in the Centre region, anticipating the worsening of weather expected for 3:00 PM. At 5:00 PM, rain is forecast, especially along the interior strip of the North and Centre, which should be accompanied by thunderstorms, sometimes intense.

Although 14 districts are under a yellow heat warning until 6:00 PM on Saturday, the expected maximum temperatures range between 27°C in Viana do Castelo and Aveiro, which contrasts with the meteorological instability forecast for the afternoon.
