IPMA extended the yellow heat warnings, which were initially in effect until 6 AM on September 4th, but which now extend until 6 PM on the same day. The number of districts on alert remains at 11.
The districts under yellow warning are Vila Real, Bragança, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Lisboa, Setúbal, Portalegre, Évora, and Beja. The warning takes effect at 9 AM tomorrow, September 3rd, and ends at 6 PM on Friday, September 4th.
The remaining districts, which are part of the North and Central coastal strip and Faro, are exempt from any warning, due to a more contained temperature rise forecast for those regions.
Temperatures may reach up to 12°C above average, reinforcing the positive thermal anomalies. These thermal anomalies will intensify between today and tomorrow, with a rise in maximum temperatures that will be more pronounced on September 3rd.
