Maximums of 42ºC: eleven districts under yellow warning on Thursday

Eleven districts of mainland Portugal will be under yellow warning on Thursday due to the forecast of hot weather, with high maximum temperature values, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere. The covered districts are Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Lisboa, Beja and Castelo Branco.

Maximum temperatures will rise significantly from Wednesday, with an increase of 10 to 12 degrees across most of the territory. In most regions, the maximums should range between 34 and 38 degrees.

The southern coast of the Algarve is the exception to this sharp rise, where the increase will only be 5 to 6 degrees. In the southern region of the country, there is also a possibility of dust from Africa occurring.
