Eleven districts of mainland Portugal will be under yellow warning on Thursday due to high maximum temperatures, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA). Temperatures could reach 42 degrees in some regions of the country.
The yellow warning is the lowest level of danger on the meteorological warning scale and indicates a risk situation for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
The IPMA recommends monitoring the meteorological situation and adopting prevention measures, especially among populations most vulnerable to extreme heat.
