The censure motion against the Government was rejected during a debate in the Assembly of the Republic. The debate was analyzed by SIC commentators Carlos Guimarães Pinto, Cristina Rodrigues and Miguel Morgado on the program "Linhas Direitas".
During the debate, the Government announced two measures to reduce the impact of rising cost of living: the income tax cut and a bonus for pensioners.
The commentators considered the promises made by the Government during the debate as "a shame" and "an admission of guilt", criticizing the timing when these measures were announced.
The censure motion was thus rejected, but the measures announced by the Executive during the debate became the focus of criticism from political analysts.
