Elevador da Glória. Chega demands that vote be repeated

Observador9 September 2026 at 23:08

Chega demands that the voting on a motion by the Left Bloc in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML) regarding the Elevador da Glória be repeated. The motion demanded responses from the Lisbon City Council.

The motion ended up being approved with votes from Chega, which created a paradoxical situation. The leader of the Chega bench reinforces that the party's voting intention was and continues to be against the motion.

Given this situation, the far-right party argues that the vote must be repeated, apparently because it considers there was some error or irregularity in the voting process that led to the approval of a motion with a voting intention contrary to what the party intended.
