Professor Rui Nunes, a specialist in Bioethics, considered that, at this moment, mandatory vaccination is not justified in Portugal. In particular, the professor argued that, in the case of vaccines against diphtheria and tetanus, mandatory vaccination of children "does not make as much sense".
The professor's position was expressed in the context of a debate on vaccination policies in the country. Rui Nunes is a full professor and a recognized voice in the field of bioethics in Portugal.
The professor highlighted that, currently, he does not consider it necessary to implement any type of mandatory requirement for taking vaccines in Portuguese territory.
