27,600 students from Castelló start a new school year with promises and new actions from the City Council

A new school year began in Castellón with a total of 27,600 students. The City Council of Castellón promised new interventions and actions for the education sector during this 2026/2027 course.

The mayor, Begoña Carrasco, visited CEIP Sanchis Yago on the first day of classes to mark the beginning of the new school year. The mayor was accompanied by the Education Councilor, María España.

The visit of the mayor to this school symbolizes the City Council's commitment to the local educational community. The municipal executive states that this course will bring improvements and new initiatives for the city's educational establishments.

Joaquim Romero Magalhães Prize Returns to Distinguish Works on Loulé's Historical Heritage

Loulé City Council is promoting the 4th edition of the Joaquim Romero Magalhães Research Prize, a biennial award that distinguishes studies on the historical and cultural heritage of the municipality, in historical, archaeological and ethnographic aspects. Works can be submitted until May 15, 2027, and the winner receives four thousand euros, in addition to having their work published by Revista Al-'Ulyà. The prize, which since 2021 bears the name of Professor and Historian Joaquim Romero Magalhães, born in Loulé in 1942 and died in Coimbra in 2018, aims to honor his contribution to the research and dissemination of historical documentation of the Municipal Archive.
