Misericórdia of São João da Pesqueira returns health services after a 50-year hiatus

Diário de Viseu9 September 2026 at 16:30

The Misericórdia of São João da Pesqueira will return health services to the population after a 50-year hiatus. Next Sunday, the institution will inaugurate the works for the reconstruction and comprehensive rehabilitation of the old hospital and maternity.

The works allowed for the recovery of the facilities located on Praça da República, restoring health services that had not existed in the municipality for five decades.

This initiative marks the return of healthcare to the responsibility of the Misericórdia of São João da Pesqueira, filling a significant gap in the region's health services offering.
