The Santa Maria da Feira City Council signed its first Public Employer Agreement with five trade union structures. The agreement was formalized with the aim of regularizing and modernizing labor relations in the municipality.
The signing counted on the participation of four trade union structures, which together with the municipality defined the terms of the new collective labor agreement for municipal workers.
The agreement updates several matters of the labor relationship between the municipality and its employees. Among the main changes foreseen is the reduction of the trial period for new workers.
Another change implemented by the agreement is the increase in the hours credit that workers have for unionized activities. This measure aims to reinforce workers' rights and their representation in the public sector.
