D. AMÉRICO AGUIAR VISITED THE FIREFIGHTERS OF MIRANDA DO DOURO IN A MOMENT OF HOMAGE

The Bishop of Setúbal, D. Américo Aguiar, visited the Voluntary Firefighters of Miranda do Douro in a passage marked by the memory of the firefighters who lost their lives in the 2013 fire. The visit had a special significance for the bishop, who at the time of the tragedy was the chaplain of the Hospital da Prelada, in Porto, where some of the firefighters who were victims of the fire were admitted. During the encounter, D. Américo Aguiar met with the members of the corporation and learned about the work carried out by the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Miranda do Douro, in a moment of homage to those who died in service to the community. The visit thus served to recognize and pay tribute to the sacrifice of the firefighters who died during the fire.
