Viana do Castelo City Hall issued an alert about a fraud attempt involving the identity of the municipality's president, Luís Nobre. Emails were detected circulating from the address [email protected], in which the sender was improperly impersonating the Municipal Council president.
The municipality warned that this email address is fake and has no connection to Luís Nobre. The council appealed to anyone who receives messages from this address not to reply, not to open links or attachments, to delete the message, and to report it as fraud.
This is not the first time a similar situation has occurred in the municipality. The previous week, a similar fraud was detected in which someone impersonated the bishop of Viana do Castelo through the address [email protected]. The Diocese of Viana do Castelo also clarified that the address was fake and had no connection to the diocese or the bishop.
