Cold intensifies in Rio this Monday, with minimum of 12°C and rain forecast

extra7 September 2026 at 08:30

Rio de Janeiro experienced this Sunday (6) the coldest afternoon of the year so far, with a recorded temperature of 19.3°C. For this Monday (7), temperatures are forecast to drop even further, with a minimum of 12°C and a maximum of 22°C, according to the Alerta Rio System.

The cold coincides with the Rock in Rio event, whose audience should prepare for adverse weather conditions. The forecast shows overcast skies and isolated light to moderate rain throughout the entire day.

The unstable weather is caused by moisture transport from the ocean toward the continent, maintaining conditions favorable for rain in the capital. Winds are expected to range from weak to moderate, with speeds between 18.5 km/h and 51.9 km/h, with greater intensity during the early morning and morning hours.

The recommendation for Rock in Rio attendees is to go prepared for the combination of cold, rain poncho, and overcast skies.
