A cold front is rapidly approaching that tomorrow will bring rain to these 8 districts of Portugal

Meteored Portugal7 September 2026 at 11:47

After the intense heat felt in recent days, a significant change in weather is expected in mainland Portugal from Tuesday, September 8. A cold front is about to arrive in the country, bringing rain and a generalized drop in temperatures.

This change will mainly affect the North and a large part of the Center of Portugal. The 8 districts targeted by the light rain include the Minho region, which will be the first to witness this weather change. The possibility of rain being occasionally moderate or heavy in some locations is not excluded.

Temperatures will register a relatively generalized drop throughout the mainland territory. The hot weather that has prevailed in Portugal in recent days will thus give way to cooler and more humid conditions.

This change in weather is described as significant, but temporary. The phenomenon was predicted by Meteored, which has been releasing forecasts about this approaching cold front in recent days.
