Yellow warning for hot weather and dust in suspension

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere issued a yellow warning for the South Coast of Madeira and Porto Santo due to hot weather and possibility of dust in suspension. The warning is in effect from 9 am this Monday until 6 pm on Tuesday, September 8. The weather forecasts indicate a rise in temperature, accompanied by possibility of dust in suspension in the atmosphere. The sky should present periods of very cloudy skies, with good clear spells on the south slope of Madeira island. The wind will blow light to moderate, with an intensity of about 10 kilometres per hour.

IPMA places Alentejo under yellow warning due to hot weather

IPMA issued a yellow warning of hot weather for seven districts of mainland Portugal (Beja, Castelo Branco, Évora, Faro, Lisbon, Setúbal and Portalegre) until 21:00 today, due to high maximum temperature values. The southern coast of Madeira island and Porto Santo were also placed under yellow warning. Minimum temperatures will range between 14°C and 24°C, while maximum temperatures are expected to reach 39°C in Évora, with mostly clear or clear skies and light or moderate wind on the mainland.
