At least 1,372 people died in Nepal and in the Tibet region after devastating floods hit the Himalayas, according to Nepalese and Chinese authorities today.
The Himalayas region was severely affected by floods that caused large-scale destruction, leaving a high number of fatalities both in Nepal and in the Chinese region of Tibet.
The authorities of both countries confirmed the death toll, which represents one of the deadliest episodes of natural catastrophes in the Himalayan region in recent years.
The natural disaster also caused significant material damage in the affected areas, with entire communities being reached by the waters.
