IPMA extended the yellow hot weather warning in seven districts of Portugal until 9 PM tomorrow. The districts covered are Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Lisboa, Setúbal, Évora, Beja, and Faro. This extension of the warning is due to the persistence of high temperature values in these regions.
Expected temperatures can reach 39 degrees Celsius in Baixo Alentejo. However, the scenario is different on the North and Center coast, where a drop in temperatures is recorded. The remaining territory continues to register high temperature values.
Over the next hours, high temperatures are expected in the seven districts under yellow warning. Despite a slight drop in thermometers on the North and Center coast, half of the IPMA warnings that were in effect were lifted at the end of yesterday afternoon, with only the seven extended warnings remaining in place.
