Eleven districts on the Portuguese mainland are under a yellow warning due to hot weather. The warning was issued by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

Temperatures can reach high values, between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius, in regions such as the Tagus Valley, Lower Beira and Alentejo.

The yellow warning is the second lowest in a three-level scale and indicates risk for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
