Heat leaves 11 districts under yellow warning this week

Eleven districts in mainland Portugal will be under yellow warning due to heat during this week.

Maximum temperatures will rise significantly from Wednesday, with increases of 10 to 12 degrees Celsius in some locations.

In regions such as the Tagus Valley, Beira Baixa and Alentejo, temperatures could reach 40 to 42 degrees Celsius.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) issued a yellow warning for several districts in mainland Portugal, including Viseu, due to hot weather.
