Due to intense heat, the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) placed 13 districts under yellow warning, a moderate danger measure in effect until Monday. The number of districts covered increased from 9 to 13, rising significantly from yesterday to today.
The hot weather affects not only mainland Portugal but also the Madeira Archipelago, which is also under this meteorological alert. The yellow warning indicates potentially dangerous weather conditions, although of lesser severity, where the population should be attentive and follow the recommendations of authorities.
