The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) placed 13 districts on the mainland under yellow warning on Sunday due to heat. Coimbra is among the districts covered by this weather warning.
The yellow warning is the lowest level on the IPMA warning scale, indicating a risk situation for certain activities dependent on weather conditions. This type of warning is issued when there is a possibility of meteorological phenomena occurring that may cause significant impacts.
The remaining districts also affected by the heat warning complete the list of the 13 continental regions that IPMA considered necessary to monitor given the high temperatures forecast for that day.
