The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has extended the yellow warning of hot weather for all areas of Madeira and Porto Santo, due to the persistence of high maximum temperature values.
The warning covers Madeira-North Coast, Porto Santo and the mountainous regions, remaining in effect between 10:00 on Sunday and 19:00 on Tuesday, September 15, according to Madeira's legal time.
On the South Coast of the island, the warning came into effect at 7:17 on Sunday and also extends until 19:00 on Tuesday.
The yellow warning is the least severe on a three-level scale and indicates a risk situation for activities sensitive to hot weather.
