Meet the champion samba at Beija-Flor; school is the fifth to define official anthem for 2027

Beija-Flor de Nilópolis is the fifth school in the Special Group to define its samba-enredo for the 2027 carnival, which will tell the story of pajé Zeneida Lima. Samba 13, composed by Marquinhos Beija-Flor, Claudio Russo, Chacal do Sax, Rômulo Massacesi, Júlio Alves and Léo Freire, was the winner. The work includes verses such as "From the people I am, Muiraquitã / Pajé Zeneida, sovereign, champion" and the chorus "Ê! Incorporate, Caboclo!", making reference to Zeneida's role as an activist and environmentalist in the Marajó archipelago. Four sambas made it to the final, which featured creative fan sections at Nilópolis's rehearsal ground.
