Beija-Flor de Nilópolis is the fifth school in the Special Group to define its samba-enredo for the 2027 carnival, which will tell the story of pajé Zeneida Lima. The school held the final of its competition on Thursday night, when the winning work was chosen.
Samba 13, from the partnership formed by composers Marquinhos Beija-Flor, Claudio Russo, Chacal do Sax, Rômulo Massacesi, Júlio Alves and Léo Freire, was the great champion. The work includes verses such as "From the people I am, Muiraquitã / Pajé Zeneida, sovereign, champion" and the chorus "Ê! Incorporate, Caboclo! Incorporate, Caboclo! I want to see you incorporate / From the womb of my Pará, the louro dust blew / Community, Caruana Beija-Flor!", which make reference to Zeneida's trajectory as an activist and environmentalist in the Marajó archipelago.
Sambas registered both in Nilópolis and in Pará, the honoree's home state, competed. Four sambas made it to the final. The fan sections were fierce and creative, even bringing floats and costumes to the rehearsal ground during the decision.
Zeneida Lima herself sent a message to those present at Nilópolis's rehearsal ground during the event. The school is the fifth to define its official anthem among the schools in the Special Group that will parade in 2027.
