Beija-Flor de Nilópolis is the fifth Special Group school to define the samba-enredo for the 2027 carnival, which will pay tribute to pajé Zeneida Lima. The champion samba was number 13, composed by the partnership of Marquinhos Beija-Flor, Claudio Russo, Chacal do Sax, Rômulo, Mass Tuiuti, Portela, Mocidade and Mangueira, as well as Acesi, Júlio Alves and Léo Freire, who were the big winners.
The work includes verses like "From the people I am, Muiraquitã / Pajé Zeneida, sovereign, champion" and the chorus "Ê! Incorporate, Caboclo! Incorporate, Caboclo! I want to see you incorporate / From the womb of my Pará, the louro dust blew / Community, Caruana Beija-Flor!", which make reference to Zeneida's trajectory as an activist and environmentalist in the Marajó archipelago, in Pará.
Other schools had already defined their sambas earlier, such as Portela, Mocidade and Mangueira. This weekend, it will be the turn of Unidos da Tijuca, Vila Isabel and Salgueiro to define their official anthems. The competing sambas were registered both in Nilópolis and in Pará, and four reached the final. Fierce and creative fan groups were present during the definition event.
