The strike by INEM's Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians, scheduled for September 14 and 28, was called off after an agreement with the Government. The decision came following a meeting between the workers' union, the Ministry of Health, and INEM's management.
Among the points agreed upon is the maintenance of the current project for the allocation of 56 emergency medical ambulances. According to the union, these vehicles continue to be intended for pre-hospital care.
The agreement does provide, however, that the ambulances may be mobilized occasionally for transfers between health units, when necessary.
