FlixBus has again postponed the start of its operations at the Sete Rios Bus Station in Lisbon, changing the expected date from September 24 to September 29. According to the Rede Nacional de Expressos (RNE), the manager of the infrastructure, this new delay results from a decision solely made by the German operator itself.
According to clarifications provided by RNE, FlixBus had not yet obtained, as of the beginning of September, the licenses required by law that allow it to operate legally within the terminal.
The manager recalls that it granted FlixBus access on May 22, 2026, and emphasizes that it has made efforts to accommodate the successive requests and schedule changes from the carrier, always safeguarding the effectively available capacity of the space.
RNE took the opportunity of the statement to reaffirm its position in the market, defending that competition must be transparent and conducted under equal rules for all operators.
