Correio da Manhã11 September 2026 at 15:36

A boat was found stranded in Quarteira transporting more than 7,000 liters of gasoline. Authorities detected suspicious movements in the vicinity during the early morning and went to the location to check the situation.

Upon arriving at the location, authorities found that individuals had fled, making it impossible to identify or detain anyone at the scene. The vessel was found stranded, suggesting a possible unloading or refueling operation that went wrong.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident, including the origin of the transported gasoline and the intention of the individuals who fled before the arrival of security forces. The case may be related to fuel smuggling.
