A 54-year-old man was detained on September 10 in the municipality of Sines for drug trafficking, in an operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the GNR of Santiago do Cacém. The detention occurred after GNR military personnel identified the individual, who displayed suspicious behavior upon noticing the presence of the Guard.
During the police approach and subsequent procedures, the authorities managed to seize various quantities of drugs. 197 doses of cannabis resin, 75 doses of cocaine and seven cannabis plants were confiscated. In addition to the drugs, a Glock pistol and other material related to the criminal activity were also seized.
The man was made a suspect and subjected to periodic appearances before the authorities, as part of the judicial process that resulted from this anti-drug trafficking operation in the region.
