Morgado do Quintão, in Lagoa, will celebrate on September 26th the ten years since the release of its first wines with another edition of Open House, an event that opens the property to the public with a programme dedicated to wine, gastronomy, music and cultural activities.
This year, the organisation extended the initiative to community participation through an open call directed at musicians and an invitation for volunteers to collaborate, involving artists, bands and other people from the region. Morgado do Quintão considers that this edition takes on a more collective character, bringing together families, musicians and participants connected to different areas, from cooking to artistic creation.
The programme includes yoga among the vineyards, writing and painting workshops, candle-making, oysters from Ria de Alvor and artisanal vinegars. There is also a tasting guided by new winemaker Mariana Salvador, dedicated to the old vines and the estate's wines. Chef João Viegas participates as Guest Chef, presenting some of his dishes. Music will be present throughout the day, with DJ, jazz, fado, samba and live band performances, with particular presence of musicians from the Algarve.
Some workshops, tastings and experiences have limited places and require specific booking. Tickets are available on the event page.
