The Municipality of Alcoutim will present the Municipal Climate Action Plan (PMAC) on September 17 at 10:30, in the Noble Hall of the Town Hall. The session will include a meeting with local and regional entities and agents.
The document aims to guide municipal action in the areas of mitigation and adaptation to climate change, focusing on sustainability, protection of natural resources and strengthening the territory's resilience. The presentation will also serve to disseminate the main intervention lines, promote discussion on climate challenges and gather contributions from the different entities involved.
The municipality highlights that the territory is particularly exposed to phenomena such as drought, extreme temperatures and rural fire risk. The local authority advocates for the importance of cooperation between institutions, economic agents, organizations and the community in defining response measures.
With the implementation of the PMAC, the municipality aims to strengthen the territory's preparedness capacity for climate change impacts and transform environmental challenges into opportunities for valorization, innovation and improvement of the quality of life of the populations.
