The Civil Defense of São Paulo issued an alert for the risk of severe storms between Friday (11) and Saturday. The agency announced it will install a Crisis Cabinet at the Emergency Management Center starting at 2 PM on Friday. The weather forecast indicates heavy rain, lightning, wind gusts and hail in several regions of the State.

The period of greatest attention will be between the afternoon and evening of this Friday, as well as the early morning and morning of Saturday. The regions of Presidente Prudente, Marília, Itapeva, Registro and part of Sorocaba present the highest risk of severe storms, with the possibility of strong gusts, intense hail and even isolated tornadoes.

The capital, Greater São Paulo, Campinas, the Paraíba Valley, the Coast and other regions may also be affected by heavy rainfall and strong winds. On the Coast, there is also a forecast of rough seas.

The instability will be influenced by the formation of an extratropical cyclone in the South of the country, which contributes to the adverse weather conditions forecast for the State of São Paulo in the coming days.
