Diário de Aveiro10 September 2026 at 15:30

Spain experienced this year the hottest June, July and August on record. The Spanish meteorological agency considered that this situation represents a "persistence of high temperatures totally exceptional".

The announcement was made today by the Spanish meteorological agency, which did not specify the exact temperature values nor compare with previous years.

The phenomenon affects the entire Spanish territory over a prolonged period, exceeding the normal patterns for this time of year.

This information comes in the context of a heat wave that has affected the Iberian Peninsula particularly intensely during the summer months.
