Two men, aged 30 and 42, were placed in preventive detention after being arrested on suspicion of the crime of drug trafficking in Ribeira Grande, on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores. The arrest was carried out by the Public Security Police (PSP), which today announced the precautionary measure applied to the suspects.
According to the Regional Command of the PSP of the Azores, the two individuals are charged with the crime of drug trafficking, specifically the sale of drugs. The investigation that led to the arrest took place in the city of Ribeira Grande, in the north of the island of São Miguel.
The suspects were brought before a court, where the preventive detention measure was determined as a way to ensure the presence of the defendants in subsequent judicial proceedings. The case continues to be monitored by the police authorities.
