Águeda. Fireworks suspect subject to periodic appearances

SAPO Notícias10 September 2026 at 13:46

A man was arrested on Wednesday in Águeda on suspicion of having set off fireworks. The Judicial Police are investigating the case and revealed that the suspect is also believed to be responsible for other ignitions.

The authorities indicate that no rational motivation was identified for the acts committed by the detainee. The investigation suggests that the behavior may be framed within a context of alcoholism.

The man is now subject to periodic appearances before authorities, a measure applied while legal proceedings are ongoing. Security forces continue to analyze the circumstances of the incidents recorded in the municipality.
