Lula sanctions this Thursday (10) MP that ends the 'blusinhas tax'

President Lula will sanction this Thursday (10) the Provisional Measure approved by Congress that ends the "blusinhas tax". The text directly benefits orders made on platforms like Shein, Shopee and AliExpress, maintaining only the state collection of ICMS on packages.

The measure zeros the 20% tax for international purchases of up to 50 dollars. The tax exemption was maintained. But some issues were included, such as a mechanism obliging the Ministry of Finance to monitor the impact of ending the tax on Brazilian trade.

The government argues that this economic analysis be carried out every three months in this initial phase and then becomes semi-annual after this period. If the monitoring proves that the productive sector is being harmed, the Ministry of Finance commits to sending to the Chamber of Deputies a project with mitigation measures to assist the national industry.

One of the measures under study is the tax break for national purchases of up to 250 reais.
