The Novo party called Supreme Federal Court (STF) minister Flávio Dino "terribly Soviet" in a social media post. The statement occurs amid a series of procedural moves regarding the command of the Federal Police (PF).
Initially, within the scope of an action filed by the party, minister André Mendonça had removed the corporation's Director-General, Andrei Rodrigues. The measure was reviewed on Wednesday by Dino himself, who reinstated Rodrigues to the position.
However, still in the afternoon of the same day, the Court's president, Edson Fachin, suspended the effects of both previous decisions, both Mendonça's and Dino's, halting once again the impasse over the PF's leadership.
In the post, Novo, which has Romeu Zema as its presidential candidate, recalled having made a "strong mobilization for the Senate" to reject Dino's name for the STF when he was nominated by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
