Waste: Lisbon City Council submits regulation for public consultation

The Lisbon City Council submitted the proposal for the regulation on urban solid waste to public consultation. The vote took place in a private meeting, and the proposal was approved.

The parties that voted against were Livre, the Left Bloc, the Portuguese Communist Party, and Chega. The Socialist Party chose to abstain.

The new regulation provides for the reinforcement of inspection on environmental infractions related to waste management.

The regulation now in public consultation establishes new rules for the collection and treatment of waste in the Portuguese capital.
