The president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Minister Edson Fachin, suspended on Wednesday (9) the decision by Minister André Mendonça to remove the director-general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, and the director of Intelligence, Leandro Almada.
The Supreme Court is experiencing a crisis involving Ministers André Mendonça and Alexandre de Moraes following decisions related to investigations into the Banco Master scandal. Fachin considered it serious that decisions by ministers are being horizontally challenged, especially when there is a pending ruling in the Second Panel and a suspension request is under analysis by the Presidency.
On the same morning, Minister Flávio Dino had decided to immediately reinstate Andrei Rodrigues to the position of director-general of the Federal Police and Leandro Almada to the position of director of Police Intelligence, directly contradicting the determination of fellow Minister Mendonça.
