Rua da Sofia, in Porto, will have priority circulation for public transport from Thursday, September 10th. This change is part of a set of alterations to the historic zone of the city.
Ana Abrunhosa, a prominent figure in explaining these changes, detailed what is at stake with this new road organization. The measure aims to prioritize public transport in that area of the city.
The changes are part of a broader plan for urban reorganization of the area classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The goal is to reduce car traffic and promote more sustainable modes of transport.
