The ambassador referred to the leadership transition at the UN as a favorable moment to reinforce the international commitment against antisemitism.
The current Secretary-General, António Guterres, is considered "persona non grata" by Israel, which even went so far as to ban him, which makes the succession a particularly relevant moment for the relations between Israel and the international organization.
