The Federal Police carried out this Wednesday Operation Voto Migrante to investigate the practice of electoral fraud crimes. The action took place in the municipality of São João de Meriti, in Baixada Fluminense, where two search and seizure warrants, issued by the Judiciary, were executed at addresses linked to the suspects.
According to the investigation, several voters had their electoral domiciles changed through the use of false documents. This fraudulent practice aims to artificially increase the number of votes for a certain group or candidate, illegitimately manipulating the electoral result.
During the searches, a cell phone and various documents were seized, which will undergo criminal forensic analysis. The collected material will be analyzed to identify the extent of the frauds and those responsible for the improper changes in electoral domiciles.
According to the Federal Police, the investigations continue with the analysis of the seized material, in order to clarify the details of the fraudulent scheme and any responsibility of the suspects involved in the illegal changes of electoral domiciles in the region.
